Sabotage and attacks on Niger’s oil sector by Nigerien rebels, not jihadists: 12 Jun 2024, 6 soldiers guarding the line killed between Salkam and Tibiri (Dosso); 16–17 Jun 2024, the FPL (Front Patriotique de Libération, Mahmoud Sallah) claimed its first sabotage at Tesker (Zinder), demanding Bazoum’s release and cancellation of CNPC’s $400M advance; Jul 2024, FPL sabotage near Muntseka (Dosso); further unclaimed sabotage in Dosso (Dec 2024, Mar 2025). The MPLJ, which split from the FPL in Aug 2024, claimed attacks in the Agadem zone in Nov 2025, on 6 Dec 2025 (Dibella) and 21 Dec 2025 (south of Jaouro), and a 10 Feb 2026 attack the army says it repelled (MPLJ claims 24 soldiers killed). Separately, 2 CNPC staff were kidnapped near Agadem in Feb 2025 (ISSP suspected). No attack has been claimed by JNIM or the ISSP.
