- 14 Oct 2026: the Miski self-defence committee attacked the army’s ‘brigade minière’, killing 2 soldiers and wounding 9; the army threatened to treat refusal to disarm as rebellion (APA/Koaci). Oct 2025: the government ordered artisanal miners out of Tibesti after new clashes; an Apr 2025 peace deal had included an amnesty.
- Kouri Bougoudi, on the Libyan border, saw Libya-based rebel attacks (CCMSR, 2017–2020) and inter-group clashes; no 2025–26 incident found. The Russian veterans’ channel describes Tebu, smugglers, foreign mercenaries and the army fighting over the goldfields, and Chad’s attempt to channel output through the state company SONEMIC (D2, Belye Dyadi v Afrike (wagner_group2022), t.me/wagner_group2022/19009, 2 Oct 2026).
- Batha region also has artisanal gold (>40,000 foreign miners in Tibesti and Batha, 2023), but no site coordinates were found, so it is not mapped.
