7 Sep 2026, Kaka (Mopti region): JNIM ambushed an Africa Corps patrol travelling with Dan Na Ambassagou/dozo auxiliaries. RFI-based reporting gives at least 11 dead (4 Africa Corps, 7 dozo hunters); JNIM released images of some bodies. Local sources tie it to a FAMa drone strike at nearby Bourkouma the day before that killed a woman and her baby. Neither FAMa nor Africa Corps commented, and the official Africa Corps channel did not mention it.
Area of operation: Mopti & Bandiagara (central Mali)
