Grade (02 Source Grading Method)
- Admiralty reliability: C · Score: 62%. Fast, geocoded and usually right on that an attack happened and roughly where. Casualty splits and IS-sourced figures are weaker. Cite it as a lead and corroborate.
Editorial slant
- Neutral, wire-style wording. Leans on IS-side claims for ISSP–JNIM fighting (‘according to reports, hundreds of JNIM fighters were killed’). It reposted the same 1 Sep N’daki claim six times, which inflates its apparent volume.
- It does correct itself (post 288: ‘This post was a mistake on my part’) and debunks recycled imagery: post 442 showed a pro-JNIM ‘two ISSP commanders killed’ photo was really ISSP emir Sadou Cissé, killed Dec 2024. It also runs public feuds with other channels (@sigintt, ‘Signal Reports’).
Post 314: map index
- Links three Google My Maps: Sahel (https://www.google.com/maps/d/viewer?mid=1Zbp64V3wZgU6XWORPKHlFHpTRfViJZo), Sudan and Horn of Africa. On 20 Oct 2026 the Sahel map had layers for IS (149 features), JNIM (57), JNIM/FLA (12), Mali (76), Niger (55), Burkina Faso (43), JAS (29), Nigeria (119), capitals and ‘Other’ (bandit factions such as Bello Turji, Ado Aleru, Gwaska, Dogo Gide). Since 10 Oct ISSP/ISWAP areas are split into ‘administrative regions’ the admin calls ‘educated estimates’ (post 431). Treat the polygons as one analyst’s estimate, not ground truth. Graded separately as Sahel control map (Google My Maps).
